What Happens at a Piano Retreat? (Santa Barbara Piano Retreat 2025)

Kim & Kim Piano Retreat 2026

When: Monday, September 28 (4:00 PM PST) through Friday, October 2 (6:00 PM PST), 2026
Where: Music Academy of the West – 1070 Fairway Road, Santa Barbara, CA 93108
Who: Open to adult pianists (18+) of all levels, from amateur to professional
Instructors: Jeeyoon Kim, Natasha Kislenko, and Anthony Do-Hoon Kim

Tuition & Registration

Tuition: $1,774 per person, which includes:

• Practice coaching

• Two private lessons

• One duet lesson

• Three master classes

• Four special topic workshops

• Two roundtable discussions

• Piano duet recital

• A final public solo recital at Lehmann Hall (recorded, with access provided to participants)

Registration: A $750 deposit is required at the time of registration. Lodging is not included. Please review the payment policy below for details.

Pianos & Practice Facilities

Music Academy of the West is an All-Steinway facility with world-class instruments. Each participant will have access to a private practice room with a Steinway grand piano.

Arrival & Schedule

Participants should arrive on Monday, September 28, by 4:00 PM for a campus walk-through, orientation, and welcome dinner. The final public recital will take place on Friday, October 2, at 3:00 PM, followed by an optional post-concert celebration dinner.

Payment & Refund Policy

• A $750 deposit is required at registration to secure your spot.

• Full tuition ($1,774) is due by July 30, 2026 (60 days before the session start date).

Refund Policy

• 60 days or more before the session start date – Full refund of all payments, minus a $75 processing fee.

• 30 to 59 days before the session start date – 75% refund of all payments.

• 15 to 29 days before the session start date – 50% refund of all payments.

• 14 days or less before the session start date – No refunds will be issued.

If a waitlisted student takes your spot, you will receive a full refund minus a $75 processing fee.
